About Africa Cloud Space

Africa Cloud Space is a software company that builds cloud-based systems across different sectors like schools, professional bodies, water billing companies, and businesses across Africa.

We are expanding our sales team to cover key regions across Kenya, and we are looking for driven, self-motivated interns who want to learn the ropes of B2B sales, support territory growth, and build a foundational career in tech.

The Role

As a Business Development Associate Intern, you will learn the full sales cycle from the ground up in your assigned region. Your primary focus will be assisting our sales efforts for our flagship product, the CloudSchool System. This is a field-based learning role — you will spend time shadowing experienced reps, visiting schools and organisations in your territory, building relationship skills, and helping generate new business leads.

  • Assist in developing and executing a territory plan to identify new opportunities within your region.
  • Support lead generation by prospecting and engaging key decision-makers such as school principals, directors, and association executives.
  • Shadow senior team members during product demonstrations and eventually conduct introductory demos yourself.
  • Learn how to draft proposals, understand the negotiation process, and support the closing of deals.
  • Maintain accurate records in our CRM by logging field activities and prospect interactions.
  • Help facilitate smooth handovers of new clients to our Implementation Officers.
  • Gather basic market intelligence, including customer feedback and regional trends.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in B2B sales, technology, or business development.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to participate in field work, travel within the assigned region, and build face-to-face relationships.
  • High level of organisation and eagerness to learn CRM software.
  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
  • Resilient — able to bounce back after a lost sale and keep moving forward.
  • Recently completed a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, IT, or a related field.
  • No prior experience required, but any sales, marketing, or customer service experience is advantageous.

Nice to Have

  • A basic understanding of the education sector and how schools operate.
  • Familiarity with or an existing network within your preferred region.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset.

What We Offer

  • Monthly stipend plus a commission structure with uncapped earning potential.
  • Product training and sales enablement support.
  • A steppingstone into the exciting world of EdTech sales, with ample growth opportunities.
